The consignment ledger

Simple fees. No surprises.

You bring us the item. We do the selling. Our commission gets smaller as the sale gets larger, so valuable items put a larger share back in your pocket.

Actual marketplace costs are passed through at cost. ConsignList does not mark them up.
Service commission

The better the sale, the more you keep.

Your commission tier is determined by the final selling price. Percentage commissions are applied to net selling proceeds after actual third-party marketplace selling fees. Pass-through costs are shown separately.

Included in the commission

One service fee covers the work.

We do not split routine selling work into photography fees, listing fees, messaging fees, and admin fees. The core work of selling your item is included.

Intake & cataloging

Your item is logged into a documented inventory record.

Research & pricing

We research the item and establish a competitive asking price.

Photography

Listing-ready photos are prepared as part of the service.

Listing creation

Titles, descriptions, condition details, and listing data are prepared.

Cross-marketplace management

Approved items can be managed across ConsignList and supported marketplaces.

Buyer communication

Questions, offers, and transaction communication are handled for you.

Sale & fulfillment tracking

The sale is recorded through payout, return-window, and fulfillment stages.

Transaction documentation

Listing snapshots and transaction evidence support a documented paper trail.

Third-party costs

At cost means at cost.

If another marketplace charges a selling, transaction, listing, processing, or similar fee, the actual charge is reflected in the item’s settlement. ConsignList does not add a hidden percentage on top of that marketplace cost.

No marketplace-fee markupThe actual charge is the charge passed through.
Paid promotion requires approvalBoosts, ads, optional authentication, and similar paid services are not silently added.
ConsignList Marketplace can reduce outside feesA direct sale avoids a separate third-party marketplace selling commission, though payment processing or other actual transaction costs may still apply.
The exceptions

Very few extra charges.

01

Early withdrawal

If you ask for an item back after it has been processed and listed, a $5 per listed item withdrawal fee may apply, capped at $25 per withdrawal request. No withdrawal fee applies before processing begins.

02

Extraordinary expenses

Oversized specialty packaging, professional authentication, restoration, unusual cleaning, or another extraordinary cost is charged only when approved in advance and passed through at actual cost.

Fee desk FAQ

Before you hand it over.

When is the ConsignList commission calculated?

The tier is based on the final selling price. For percentage tiers, the service commission is applied to net selling proceeds after actual third-party marketplace selling fees.

What happens if my item sells on ConsignList Marketplace?

There is no separate third-party marketplace selling commission to deduct. Actual payment-processing or transaction costs may still apply and are reflected separately.

Do I pay for photography or listing creation?

No separate routine photography, listing-writing, buyer-messaging, or administration fee is charged. Those services are included in the ConsignList commission.

What if my item never sells?

Unsold-item handling follows the consignment agreement. Items may be repriced, returned, bundled, or otherwise handled according to the agreed terms. Any extraordinary expense still requires prior approval.

When do I get paid?

Payout is released according to the applicable return-window and settlement terms after the sale is no longer subject to the normal hold period.

For Buyers

No buyer fee. Ever.

ConsignList does not add a separate buyer service fee, marketplace fee, or buyer-protection fee to your purchase. The price shown for the item is the item price.

Shipping may applyShipping charges are separate from the item price and are not a ConsignList buyer fee.
Sales tax may applyApplicable sales tax is determined by the transaction and applicable law, not added by ConsignList as a fee.
Third-party checkout platformsIf checkout occurs on eBay, Etsy, Mercari, Vinted, Shopify, or another external platform, that platform may impose its own charges under its own terms. Those are not ConsignList buyer fees.
